easter-chicks

An activity you can do with children from 12 months+

You choose a sheet of coloured paper and you provide the children 2 colour: green and yellow.

  • using their hands, they can paint with green the piece of paper however they like, the older the children, the more detailed you can encourage them to paint the grass.
  • wash your children's hands as they need to be clean to work with yellow colour
  • take away the green colour (as if they are young, children won't understand they can't use green anymore... :))
  • using the child's index, they make finger prints for chicks: the child dips his index in yellow paint and prints it on the paper. If older children, they can use all their fingers, so they will have different sizes of chicks.
  • leave it dry
  • once dried, you can draw eyes, beaks and legs for the chicks, or if the child want to, he can draw them for his picture
