Sleeping Beauty Song

Greetings, dear friends!

The age-old debate on whether we should introduce children to fairy tales continues to spark discussions and varying opinions. We all have our reasons, and the decision often depends on the child’s age, developmental stage, and the nature of the story. As a lover of stories, I believe in sharing them with my children, for these narratives hold a unique place in a child’s journey. However, today, I want to spotlight a particular aspect of storytelling that I find truly enchanting – songs inspired by fairy tales. These melodic creations are not only basic but also incredibly powerful, teaching children the sequence of events while emphasizing the joy of a happy ending.

Bingo

I use this song both with younger and older children, first to develop the sense of rhyming and the ability of replacing the words in a song with other words/sounds/noises and, later on, i can bring up the letters and their importance of making words.

The Tidy Up Song

Here is a song that I find useful when I see the classroom needs a bit of tidying. First time when I started singing it, children started picking up the paper and the rubbish from the floor, on their own, I didn’t ask them to, the song did! Children like to have responsibilities and follow them through and look after their environment, just try them!

4 Little Snowmen

In this song we will practice counting down from 4 to 0, while expressing sadness for each  melted snowman, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh poor them!

The Animals Sounds

From a very young age, children are fascinated about animals, their habitat and their babies; often children say some animal names as their first 20 words!

The Animals Sounds songs is a fun way of teaching your children about the sounds each animal makes. You can add animals and their sounds as you go along, as many as you know, my version is not that long

Three Little Pigs

A year ago, I found myself captivated by the enduring fascination of children with the classic tale of “The Three Little Pigs.” It was this enchanting enthusiasm that inspired me to create a song, a melodic key to unlock the doors of storytelling. This song, as you’ll soon discover, is not just a tuneful delight but a powerful tool for nurturing literacy skills.

Singing songs, reciting chants, and reveling in rhymes with children lay a strong foundation for their literacy development. But, as we embark on this musical journey, let’s remember that songs, chants, and rhymes can be more than just delightful entertainment. They can be the stepping stones to a world of learning opportunities.
