Collage Art

Children like hedgehogs for their spikes and you can talk about them during your Autumn or Spring topics as it hibernates and comes back to life.

You may want to decorate the card a bit more and put a bit of colour on it. I put some random glue at the bottom of the page and glued some dried sage and cut some onion bag stripes (when you buy a bag of onions, the ‘bag’ is usually like a net, coloured red or gold and i absolutely love it for making decorations with children because it is glossy and when you cut the net it looks spiky).

Later on, you can paint each flower different colours if you want to, or you can leave it like this.

Decorate the mosaic at your own choice.

During a trip in the park I collected some Bark that was about to fall off the trees. The next day, at school, I told the children we have new natural materials and they created their own piece of art. They look really lovely!

Art may seem like fun and games — and it is! — but you may not realize that your child is actually learning a lot through exploring the arts and doing art activities. Your children will gain useful life skills through art, so encourage them to get creative.
