Both of my girls, 5 & 7, took this course separately and loved it. I feel that my 7 year old began to model the lessons learned immediately. My 5 year old needs lots of help (to be expected) to remember to use her tools to remain in control. I do feel like the combination of this one time course, a weekly course, and my home teaching will help my girls learn and understand that they have the resources to help themselves remain in control!
